In order to best satisfy customer’s wishes, Henkel is continually working to develop new adhesive systems. The packaging for these systems does much more than simply offer protection during transport – it must also facilitate their use, draw attention to the product and point to additional intelligent options. In order to continually meet these requirements, developers at Henkel are resorting to the new concept of ‘crowdsourcing’: for the first time, all users can proactively influence the design of adhesives packaging and, in doing so, they will gain valuable insights into the field of packaging design. Starting on 7th February, all creative people are invited to participate in the international Henkel Adhesives Packaging Design Contest. Design proposals may be submitted at the web address: www.packdesign-contest.com.
Invitation to participate via an online platformInterested designers can find all the relevant information on the online platform which has been set up especially for the contest. In a few steps, design proposals in various categories can be uploaded: 2-Component-Adhesives and Mixing, Adhesive Application, Adhesive Dosage, Opening and Closure. All registered users are then able to comment on and assess the designs. Packaging developers from Henkel will also contribute to the exchange of ideas. Generally, participation and dialogue will play an important role in the Henkel Adhesives Packaging Design Contest: the contest will be followed on Facebook, Twitter and in design blogs.
Participation is worthwhile –attractive prizes await the winnersAfter the creative stage of the contest, a panel of experts consisting of specialists from Henkel and respected experts from the academic world will be formed. It will assess the submitted proposals according to five criteria: apart from the attractiveness of the design, the sustainability required of all Henkel products and packaging, the innovative power, the usefulness and the efficiency of the packaging proposals will be considered in the assessment. Besides receiving valuable feedback from the panel of experts, the winners of the contest will be awarded attractive prizes: The first three places will win 3,000, 1,500 and 500 euros respectively.
