This competition has no age limit.
2.) APPLICATION:
The office should receive your application no later than May 30th 2012
NB: The number of participants is limited, and priority will be given to those who register first. Your registration is only valid when the office receives your application fee and all required documents.

3.) DOCUMENTS:Please send the following documents to the office as soon as possible. Please do not send originals as NO DOCUMENTS WILL BE RETURNED to applicants.
1 Entry Fee of
260 Euros payable by credit card or bank transfer to Classic Concert.

The entry fee is not refundable. 2 One passport-sized photograph (via EMAIL)
3 A photocopy of your passport or other legal document
stating applicant's age and nationality
(ie Birth Certificate). (via EMAIL)
4 A typewritten copy of the applicant's biography
of no more than 100 words. (via EMAIL)
4.) COMPETITION STAGES AND RULES:
The Competition will have 3 stages:
Stages 1 and 2 will include solo pieces, and the Grand Final includes a concerto. Each marimbist will perform for 15 minutes in the first stage, and 30 minutes in the second stage. The candidates are able to choose in which order they play the pieces within rounds. In the second stage a maximum of 30 candidates will be selected. In the Grand Final a maximum of 6 candidates will be selected. Changes to the submitted repertoire will require the permission of the Competition Administration.
NO CHANGES WILL BE CONSIDERED AFTER May 30th 2012.
Works performed in one stage are not to be repeated in any other stage. The Jury reserves the right to stop competitors who exceed the time limit allocated for each stage. Candidates are expected to play all repeats.
Competitors unable to perform when required will be disqualified. In the case of illness or accident, a doctor’s certificate must be provided and the Jury may, at its discretion, change the order of the competitor's appearance. All stages of the Competition will be open to the general public and may be broadcast live or recorded on radio, television or film for future transmission, and all candidates agree to the use of their performance, without payment, by applying for the competition. Any applicant giving inaccurate or misleading information will be disqualified.
If the Competition can not provide one of the suggested instrument brands, the candidates will have the chance to play on an instrument who fits the wish instrument next.
5.) PRACTICE AND REHEARSALS:Daily practice facilities will be provided for candidates. In the interest of fairness, practice times are strict and the same for all candidates. Those who do not abide by the given times will unfortunately have to be disqualified.
6.) PERFORMANCE RIGHTS:
Whilst participating in the Competition, candidates will be contracted exclusively to the Competition which will have the right, without payment of fees, to:
Televise, film, video, tape-record, broadcast or photograph all stages of the Competition for media or any other purpose. Produce documentary or feature films. Produce and distribute recordings of all stages of the Competition, either in whole or in part, including any Prize-winners' concerts immediately following the Competition. Competitors are expected to make themselves available for media interviews and performances during the Competition. Prize-winners are obliged to acknowledge all awards in all future publicity materials.
7.) REGISTRATION DAY:
All candidates should sign in at the latest on the 29th of July before 5pm at the competition office.
8.) INTERPRETATION:Should any dispute arise regarding the interpretation of any part of the rules and regulations of the International Marimba Competition Salzburg 2012 the decision of the Competition Administrator will be final and not subject to any appeal.
No correspondence will be entered into.
