The International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest 2010 has attracted a total of 1,819 submissions from 55 countries and areas. An exceeding number of 2010 is expected for the 2011's contest. Application
Subject
Only freshwater planted aquarium is the subject of the contest. Anyone interested in the planted aquarium can apply for the contest. In case of open type aquarium, only underwater part becomes the subject of the judgment.Entry
- Anyone interested in the planted aquarium can apply for the contest. There is no restriction in aquarium tank size.
- Only unreleased/unpublished work produced by individual applicant is accepted.
- We accept only one layout from each applicant.
- In case of reusing the same layout motifs as the past contest, the same layout materials, reforming the layout merely by changing plants, or using mirrorreversed layout design, it will be subject of point deduction.
- The aquarium layout remarkably similar to the past prize winning works becomes the subject of point deduction.
- Application is limited to the layout picture taken within a year.
- The use of house plants or marginal plants, which hardly survive in water, becomes the subject of point deduction.
- The layout picture should be taken from the front side and present entire image of the aquarium. The pictures taken from other angles and/or showing only a part of the aquarium become the subject of point deduction.

Every year we publish the contest booklet, containing all the applicants' layout pictures after the final ranking is determined. Anyone can purchase the contest booklet through our online bookstore. We will announce the release of booklet on our web site; www.iaplc.com and free newsletter. The booklet is scheduled to be published around October, 2011.Application methods (selectable)
Color Reversal Film
- You can use any film size.
- Please put the film in a mount, and write your name on the mount.
- Please send the mounted film and application form together.
Color negative Film
- Please make sure to send 2L size (127×178mm) print for the layout confirmation.
- Please write your name on the back of the print.
- Please send the film and application form together.
Digital Camera data
- Please use 4.0 mega pixels or higher resolution digital camera, SLR digital camera and take a photograph with high resolution mode.
- Please save the image in JPEG or TIFF format in CD-R.
- Do not make any image processing such as trimming or retouch.

Contest Result Announcement
The contest result will be sent to each applicant via airmail in early August, 2011.Then the result will be published on our contest website, and the various aquarium magazines of the world.
