Radon Poster Contest 2011

Radon Poster Contest

Calling all youth ages 9-14!

January is National Radon Action Month, and Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago is inviting students and teachers to learn more about radon gas and have some fun in the process. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, and it's important to raise awareness for the health impacts of this odorless, tasteless and invisible gas that can be in our homes.
Students are encourated to submit a poster by March 1, 2011 covering such topics as:
  • What is radon?
  • Where does it come from?
  • How does radon get into our homes?
  • Radon can cause lung cancer.
  • Test your home for radon.
This contest is open to students in science, art and health classes, after-school programs and school organizations, as well as home schools and youth groups. Winners will recieve a $50 or $100 savings bond and a trip to Washington D.C. as part of the National Radon Poster Contest.
